The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is known as New Zealand’s best one day walk and each year more than 100,000 people experience this spectacular trek. 

The Tongariro National Park is New Zealand’s oldest national park and a dual World Heritage area. This status recognizes the park’s important Maori culture and spiritual associations as well as its outstanding volcanic features.

In addition there are many other activities that can be enjoyed from Tongariro Lodge including white water rafting, heli-hiking, skiing or jet boating.
