Bear viewing in Katmai National Park:
With the highest population of brown bears anywhere in the world, the Katmai National Park is one of the best areas for wildlife viewing in Alaska. During the height of the season it’s not uncommon to see more than twenty bears during a day, watching as they feed on fresh run salmon.
Bears can often be sighted close to the lodge, however jet boats are used to take visitors to the best bear-viewing locations around the river. Lodge-based bear viewing packages with bespoke itineraries are run from the lodge in addition to fishing excursions – the perfect activity for non-fishing party members.
Alaska Trophy Adventures Lodge works closely with a number of local bush plane charter companies to offer a range of wildlife viewing trips. These fly-outs are a unique way to view Alaskan wildlife from the air.
Alaska Trophy Adventures have been operating guided float trips in the area since 1985. These trips are a great way to discover and photograph Alaska’s wildlife and also enable guests to fish for rainbow trout, char, Arctic grayling and pike along the way.
