Abaco Lodge is the only fly fishing operation located on the famed Marls, a vast labyrinth of flats and mangroves, and there are numbers of bonefish unrivalled elsewhere in the Bahamas.
At Abaco Lodge the main target is bonefish, although there are juvenile tarpon, the occasional permit and, at certain times of the year, offshore fishing too. The majority of the fishing is done from a boat, but wading opportunities do exist.
The lodge is located directly on the Marls, so it is possible to walk out on the dock and simply board your skiff. The fishing is then anything from a 10 to a 45 minute run in the boat.
Abaco is famous for tailing fish and shallow water and, with a knowledgeable guide team and the latest Hells Bay skiffs, you are always going to be able to access the shallowest flats in both safety and comfort.
